Figures presented in this table come from different sources. Since 2020, the data in respect of nights spent by Irish residents are sourced from the CSO Household Travel Survey while the data in respect of nights spent by non-residents (i.e. foreign visitors) have been estimated or modelled using a combination of passenger surveys and administrative data. The totals are then allocated to different regions using tourist accommodation occupancy data provided by third party data sources. Users should be aware of the usual accuracy limitations of modelled estimates when using the data.
